Why Instituto Fe y Vida?

Because since the Second National Encuentro for Hispanic Ministry in 1977, the pastoral care of Hispanic youth and young adults has been identified as a top priority.
Because the National Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry in 1987 identified youth and young adults as a preferential option.
Because when the National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry (NCCHM) was created in 1991, there was not a single ecclesial institution dedicated 100% to Hispanic youth and young adults.
Because an enthusiastic group of Christian Brothers and professional lay people dedicated to ministry decided to embrace the “response-ability” – “the ability to respond” to the needs of Hispanic youth, founding Instituto Fe y Vida in 1994.
