The
Symposium is an intensive program of Pastoral Juvenil Hispana
based on the Prophets of Hope model.
It offers participants a broad pastoral vision, content and resources for
evangelizing, effective leadership training, and faith formation.
Participants will take back to their local community tools to start, continue,
or improve a comprehensive youth and young adult ministry, grounded
on the sociocultural reality of Hispanic jóvenes in the
Catholic Church and society in the United States.
A comprehensive youth and young adult ministry
requires a shared, active, and responsible leadership in the context of a small
community, youth group, or apostolic movement. This
approach prepares youth and young adults for their evangelizing mission and
sets the foundation for a deeper pastoral training.
Some of the themes to be covered are:
-
Analysis of the reality of Latino youth in the USA
-
Interpersonal relationships in the community
-
The Church as a community of communities
-
Being a Christian means knowing and following Jesus
-
Processes of formation and growth as Church
-
Leadership and service in a communitarian ministry
-
Applying the Symposium experience in pastoral practice
