Carmen M. Cervantes, Ed.D.
Dr. Cervantes
is the executive director of Instituto Fe y Vida. She received
her doctorate in education from the University of the Pacific,
in Stockton, CA, after working in sociocultural, educational,
and pastoral research in Mexico for 12 years, where she was
a research professor at the Universidad Anáhuac (Mexico).
She also worked as a research assistant at Michigan State
University and the University of the Pacific while pursuing
her doctoral studies. She is in the advisory board of the
Study on Youth and Religion in the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill.
Kenneth G. Davis, O.F.M. Conv., PhD.
Fr. Davis
is an associate professor of pastoral studies at Saint
Meinrad School of Theology in Indiana and vice president
of the National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry. He
holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley,
and was a professor at Mundelein Seminary, in Chicago. He
edits the Hispanic Theological Initiative book series being
published by the University of Scranton Press.
Timothy Matovina, Ph.D.
Dr. Matovina
is an associate professor of theology at the University of
Notre Dame, where he specializes in theology and culture
and U.S. Hispanic/Latino theology. He holds a Ph.D. from
the Catholic University of America and has taught at Loyola
Marymount University in Los Angeles and at the Mexican American
Cultural Center in San Antonio. He has been the director
of the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism
at Notre Dame since 2002.
Antonio Medina-Rivera, Ph.D.
Dr. Medina-Rivera
is an assistant professor of Spanish at Cleveland
State University. Originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico, he
received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.
His field of study is sociolinguistics including code-switching
and stylistic variations of Spanish. His teaching interests
include cultural studies, cinema, Spanish for business, translation,
and linguistics. He has also been a member of Instituto Fe
y Vida’s pastoral team for twelve years.
Ricardo Wood, Ph.D.
Dr. Wood
is associate professor in the Department of Sociology
of the University of New Mexico and has been the director
and principal investigator of the APD-UNM Research Partnership
Institute for Social Research since 1997. He holds a Ph.D.
from the University of California at Berkeley and is a
former member of Instituto Fe y Vida’s
pastoral team.
