Fe y Vida Programs

The programs of Fe y Vida are aimed at young leaders, advisers, pastoral agents, parents, catechists, and professors, who support the integral development of Catholic Latino youth and young adults in the United States. The guiding principle through all programs is “to empower young Latinos for their leadership in the Church and society” through an active and multiplying Pastoral Juvenil, which shares a general goal and various elements with other pastoral models in this country, in particular with Youth Ministry and youth apostolic movements; see “Pastoral Juvenil in the United States.”

The programming offered by Fe y Vida is organized in a Leadership Training System (LTS) that includes more than 30 programs at four levels, from the fundamental to the training of trainers. Several programs focus on or include the adult community, in order to be trained to promote the human development and Christian growth of young people through Family Ministry, Hispanic Ministry and collaboration with other ministries in the Church.

Fe y Vida offers its programs in three settings:

• National Catholic Leadership Program, which consists of an intensive week with several program options, conducted on different university campuses annually since 1995
• Programs contracted by dioceses, parishes and other institutions in the United States, to respond to their pastoral needs, according to local circumstances
• Programs in Latin America for trainers in Biblical Ministry, carried out with a missionary spirit

There are programs suitable for young adolescents, young people over 18, and adults.

• The Catalogue of Programs indicates for each program the appropriate audience, its duration, and level in the LTS.
• The Table of Programs provides an overview of the programs as a whole and allows access to descriptive flyers for most of them.
• The How to organize local programs section presents practical ideas to identify appropriate programs for the local reality and organize to offer them.
